Fragrance is deeply emotive; it serves as a signal of emotions within us, evoking memories, desires, and realities. When we encounter someone we like, we instinctively want to remember them by their scent. Hence, the importance of selecting the right fragrances to create a comfortable, pleasant, and relaxing ambiance in our homes.

However, when it comes to "indoor aromatherapy," many people might find themselves familiar yet unfamiliar. Although often heard of, they may lack the habit of using them. In general, aromatherapy can be categorized into two types: with fire and without fire. The former includes commonly seen items like scented candles and incense sticks, while the latter encompasses reed diffusers, room sprays, and diffuser machines. Today, we will mainly focus on scented candles.

The main difference between scented candles and regular candles lies in the fact that good scented candles incorporate natural essential oils, diffusing delightful fragrances that are also considered a form of "aromatherapy." Typically, scented candles are made from paraffin wax, palm wax, beeswax, or soy wax. Among these, soy wax candles are considered healthier. For households with pregnant women or children, it's advisable to choose scented candles made from soy wax.

Scented candles create a strong atmospheric ambiance, suitable for activities like bathing, reading, practicing yoga, watching movies, or listening to music. The flickering candlelight resembles dancing spirits, fostering a sense of tranquility. Even if you are single, lighting scented candles to create a cozy and romantic atmosphere can enhance the enjoyment of solitary moments.

Usage Tips for Scented Candles:

  1. Burn the candle continuously for 2-3 hours (especially during the first burn) to allow the wax surface to melt evenly, avoiding the formation of a "memory ring."

  2. If the wax around the wick is not evenly heated and fully melted during the first burn, subsequent burns may be limited to the area around the wick.

  3. Before lighting the candle, trim the wick to 5-8 millimeters using special scissors.

Candle Storage:Store candles in a cool and dry place. High temperatures or direct sunlight can cause the surface of the candle to melt, affecting its fragrance diffusion and resulting in insufficient aroma release during burning.

Special Reminder:When extinguishing a candle, never blow it out with your mouth! Doing so can damage the candle and produce black smoke, turning the delightful fragrance of the scented candle into a smoky smell. Instead, use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Stop burning the candle when there's less than 2 cm of wax remaining.
